  • This shows how to recover your system to a virgin state. You might want to do this if you:
    • Configured your FSG in such a manner that you no longer have contact with it
    • Made changes to the firmware using SSH that have crashed the FSG
    • Want to make sure you have a completely fresh install of the system

Note: This will not delete or alter your data (the "/home" tree)! But this will format your system partition ("/" tree)

  • Or you could try a low cost integrated USB to serial converter (with compatible logic level output) such as the FTDI TTL-232R-3V3-WE [1]. These are perfect for interfacing to systems that present a unipolar serial port (+3.3V or +5V) such as this, rather than a traditional bipolar RS232 serial port (+/-6V to +/- 10V) as presented on a PC.
